Who am I?

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m Cleo - a warm, non-judgemental and educated birth doula based in East Dulwich, but serving the greater London area.

I am mother, birth-geek, and familiar face in East Dulwich, that you can often find bopping around Lordship Lane.

What does a birth doula actually do?

If you’ve found yourself wondering whether a doula is right for you, you’re very welcome here.

Someone in the birth room who knows exactly how to keep you calm, guide your birth partner, and manage each stage of your labour. A support during pregnancy, a shoulder to cry on, a hand to squeeze, and an advocate for you towards your medical team & midwives.

What kind of birth do you support?

Whether you're planning a home birth, hospital birth, physiological birth, using pain relief, planning a caesarean or keeping an open mind, I'm here to support you.

I don't have an agenda for how you should birth your own baby. My role is to help you feel informed, confident and supported in the choices that are right for you.

How do you support my partner?

Your partner doesn't need to become a birth expert overnight!

I'll help them feel confident, involved and supported too - so they can concentrate on being your partner rather than feeling like they have to remember everything or know exactly what to do. They get to focus on supporting you, and being in the moment.

What happens before the birth?

We'll spend time getting to know each other (3 × 2-hour pregnancy sessions) talking about your hopes and preferences, exploring your options and preparing for the realities of birth.

There's no pressure to have a perfect birth plan. Instead, we'll focus on helping you feel prepared and confident whatever direction your birth takes & curating a plan you feel excited about!

Where do you work?

I'm based in East Dulwich and support families throughout South East London, including Dulwich, Peckham, Herne Hill, Nunhead, Forest Hill, Camberwell and surrounding areas - HOWEVER i also serve zone 1 or 2 London, so please freely reach out if you live beyond these areas, not a problem.

What matters most to me?

That you feel heard, respected and cared for.

Birth is incredibly personal, and there is no single “right” way to do it. I'll never judge your choices or tell you how you should give birth. I'm simply there to be in your corner, offer honest support and research, whilst also helping you navigate early parenthood with confidence.
